Copper has the highest conductivity of the engineering metals and possesses properties such as strength, machinability, ductility, conductivity, and corrosion resistance, making it an excellent choice for photo etching. One must keep in mind that while copper is resistant to saline solutions, organic acids, caustic solutions, and non-oxidizing minerals, most sulfides, ammonia and solutions containing ammonia ions will attack copper.
